Fifteen minutes to go, MSU down 17 – 6.
14:40: Third and three. Big first down here.
14:18: Didn’t get the first. Another three and out is bad, the defense needs a breather.
13:35: Georgia gets the ball back at their 10. Hopefully Stafford reverts to his first half form.
13:27: Huge sack for MSU! Almost a safety. Great job by Brandon Long.
12:42: Another great stop by the MSU defense. Third and twenty from the two.
11:58: Great stop for the Spartans. The offense should end up with some nice field position. What a great series for the Spartan D.
11:11: Nice punt by Georgia, MSU gets the ball back at the 46.
10:04: Nice job by Hoyer to avoid the sack and get the pass completed. He’s better than he was last year.
10:01: And as I say that, Hoyer makes a poor throw to the tight end.
9:55: The ball gets thrown behind Dell. Fourth and six. MSU going for it.
9:51: Cunningham makes the reception. There’s no way he didn’t get the first down.
9:41: MSU goes no huddle. Flag down.
Too many Dawgs on the field according to the talking heads. Penalty declined.
9:31: Dell with a great catch down to the four yard line!
9:27: Georgia forced to use a time out. This time not enough guys on the field. It goes without saying that the Spartans MUST get a touchdown here.
8:50: TOUCHDOWN MSU! JAVON RINGER RUNS IT IN!
8:50: Two-point conversion fails. Hoyer took a big hit, Gantt was held on the play with no-call. 17 – 12 Georgia.
8:50: Replay confirms it, no doubt that Gantt was held by the defender.
7:31: Nice pressure by MSU to force Stafford to throw the ball away. Trevor Anderson gets the shot on the QB.
7:22: Another screen pass by Georgia. They’ve been using that very effectively today.
7:21: Otis Wiley is down. No word yet what happened.
6:15: Georgia’s down to the 20 yard line or so. We need a big stop here. A touchdown might be the nail in the coffin.
5:44: Nice job stuffing Moreno. The talking heads have been pretty quiet this half about him going pro.
5:01: Spartans bring some heat, but Georgia picks up the first down. Ugh.
4:33: Moreno runs into Stafford and then his blocker, still makes it back to the line of scrimmage. And our first mention of Moreno and Stafford going pro.
3:50: Incomplete, stops the clock. Third and ten. Time to come up huge.
3:43: Touchdown Georgia. Nice catch by Moreno. It’s going to be reviewed, but it should stand.
3:43: Touchdown stands. Georgia tacks on the PAT. 24-12.
–Well, nice win by the Red Wings. 6 – 4 over Chicago. Detroit has taken 8 out of 8 points against the Blakchawks so far this season. This pretty big considering how much trouble Chicago gave Detroit last year. I also like the hats that Babcock and his staff are wearing.
3:38: MSU starts at the 49. Come on, State.
3:38: Georgia jumps the snap. First and five. Hoyer runs for the first down.
3:15: Hoyer slips.
2:54: Another sack by Georgia. That’s six today.
2:48: Fourth and twenty-two. Dell with the catch, let’s see if the refs screw us.
2:48: Measurement says short by a centimeter. Dantonio looks pissed. Play is being further reviewed.
2:48: Ruling stands. Dammit!
2:38: Two nice stops by MSU. Gotta hold them on third down here.
2:29: MSU stops Moreno on third down. Clock still running.
1:49: The talking heads are talking about how similar UGA and MSU are. Aside from the fact Georgia started the season ranked number 1 and MSU started unranked; how the Capital One was huge for MSU and a disappointment for Georgia, and how no one predicted 9 wins for MSU, they’re very similar.
1:29: Hoyer forced to run, at least he gets out to stop the clock.
1:23: First down, but Cunningham doesn’t get out. Clock running.
1:12: Hoyer throws it away. Refs take pity and don’t call intentional grounding.
1:04: Hoyer goes downfield, throws a pick. And that’s the game.
0:00: And that’s all she wrote.
Overall, I’m pleased with how the season turned out. This win would have been icing on the cake, and its a little frustrating with the chances that MSU didn’t capitalize on. But no one can deny that this program is heading in the right direction.
